Rounding and Compensating

This week for Maths we have been learning how to do rounding and compensating. On my create that I have done you can learn how to do rounding and compensating. Once you understand it is really easy to use in maths. Here is an example of how to rounding and compensating 263+200-3=460.out of all the maths strategies rounding and compensating I have done other strategies on my blog and you can look at those if you want to learn more maths strategies to use in maths. If you do than it will be easier to under stand maths than it will be easier to solve.

Marvellous Maths Strategies

Hi this week in maths we were learning how to do place value and tidy numbers to solve subtraction problems.

 It was fun making this but some I had to rush to get it done. I hope that you enjoy this slide show and learn how to do tidy numbers and maths.

 I like place value the best out of both of them because it is easier for me and easier to use.

This week our hub was learning new words in Te Reo. We all had to make comic stripes. We had to include 2 questions Nō hea koe? which means Where are you from? and Ko wai tō ingoa? which means What is your name? and you have to include some Māori words. It was very fun doing this.

Magnificent Maths strategies

 GOAL : use a broad range of mental strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems. This week my maths group has been learning two types of maths strategies. One of the maths strategies was tidy numbers and the other one that we learnt was place value. I have done some examples below of these. You can learn how to do both of these strategies too! Here is an example of a tidy number, 101 + 48 = 249. I know this because if you take away one from 101 then add one to 48, it would look like 100+149=249. And that is how you do it, you can try to do some examples from my create that I have done.
